  1. Hire slowly, fire kindly. A bad hire is 10x more painful than no hire.
  2. Optimize for trajectory. Someone improving fast beats someone already great.
  3. Async first. Most communication should not require a meeting.
  4. Trust adults to do their job. No mandatory hours, no surveillance.
  5. Show the work. Every IC writes publicly (PRs, RFCs, comms threads) — no hidden work.
