Operating principles
Section titled “Operating principles”- Hire slowly, fire kindly. A bad hire is 10x more painful than no hire.
- Optimize for trajectory. Someone improving fast beats someone already great.
- Async first. Most communication should not require a meeting.
- Trust adults to do their job. No mandatory hours, no surveillance.
- Show the work. Every IC writes publicly (PRs, RFCs, comms threads) — no hidden work.
What this section is NOT
Section titled “What this section is NOT”- Not employee directory (use Slack /people lookup)
- Not payroll system (Justworks / Gusto)
- Not legal contracts (DocuSign / signed agreements)
This section is the how we operate layer — durable principles and processes.
